And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

There was a place like this in Portland, Oregon, the last time I was there.
Portland is a hollowed out shell of its former self. Used to go down there just to spend the whole day at Powell's. I won't even set foot inside the city now... :(
Sailed up the river to spawm for Rose fest back in the early 80's. Nice city then. Went back for a week in 2005. Big changes and not for the better. Can't imagine what a leftist sh1thole it is now.
Well, just like in San Francisco, the people are the ones that voted in the degenerate politicians that made it that way. New York was such an urban dystopia they were making movies about it, until Giuliani got in and cleared the problem, so there is hope.
Ice Box records. Right next to Ice Box arcade, a great video arcade, and Ice Box skating rink in Costa Mesa, Calif. Great place to spend a few hours in 83/84. Great albums, stickers, buttons, and more.
You miss the point, we owned the music and after 50 years most of us still own that same record. Don't get me wrong, I stream music all day. But I still have my records
I download from youtube. There are websites that will capture the audio from the videos and give them to you. Lately I've come to enjoy some of the videos. The chesty German lady singing Sweet Child O Mine and her band of Bavarian musicians are fun
One of my Buddies in 1980 worked at Tower Records down the street from Knotts Berry Farm, it was 20,000 sq. ft.! it was demolished in 2005 and is still an empty lot.
"Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end...."
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when I saw that picture...
Deletethen it got burnt down last year
ReplyDeleteWow! Just wow... I don't believe that I've ever seen a record store that big.

ReplyDeleteWell, maybe not hours, but definitely 20 or 30 minutes...
Looks like Amoeba Records on Haight Street in San Francisco, a converted bowling alley. Last I was there my car was broken into
