But will it start?

  1. Didn't they have hand cranks and magnetos to use to start them? All that is required is some elbow grease.... granted, the engine could backfire and that hand crank then becomes a weapon.... heard that one of the dangers of those 'Tin Lizzies" as a broken arm do just such an occurance.

    1. We were taught to never push down on the crank with a stiff arm. Always pull up so a "sneeze" just pulls it out of your hand.

  2. Anti-freeze wasn't invented until 1926. What did they do before that?

  3. Wouldn’t get far with those skinny tires. The architecture (and snow) suggests Montreal to me. This is long before my time but I remember snow like that in Montreal when I was young (60+ years ago)

  4. More like Chicago. If it was Moan-Tree-All there'd be a whiny Queerbecker in front the camera whinging about "language rights" and looking for more federal handouts.

  5. Looks like tire chains front and rear. When did the cities begin plowing streets? I ran a Willy's Jeep plowing parking lots in the 60's.

  7. Front of the Art Institute in Chicago? 6 days ago I watched a 90 yo foot start a 1923 Model T pickup conversion. He's owned it for 75 years and knew exactly how to set the throttle and spark advance. BTW the Dodge Bros made engines for Ford in the teens until Walter P. Chrysler went out on his own in the '20's.
