And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Found the top picture on the internet. Seemed familiar....
Yep. Been there. Done that. Autumn above, spring below.
Near Monitor Pass. Take the dirt road to the left for some nice country.
Nope, that's a little further on. If you look at the top picture, two dirt roads intersect the highway in the swale. Turning left takes you to Company Meadows through an endless aspen forest, and further to a panoramic view of the Slinkard Valley. In the fall, it's amazing. I'll find some pictures and post them.
It was almost 50 years ago when I was exploring that country, and the Aspens still had the markings of the Basque sheep men from yesteryear. I hope they haven't been destroyed by the city people that have no knowledge or appreciation of the past.
Parts of Colorado between the front range and the Rockies look like that.
