This is a British Aerospace Nimrod AEW3, an airborne early warning and control aircraft used by the Royal Air Force. The aircraft is distinguished by large radomes located at the front and rear of the fuselage to house its radars. The AEW3 program was cancelled and the aircraft were withdrawn from service, never having become fully operational before being replaced.

    Perhaps they could have chosen a better name ... Although "hunter" seems appropriate ...

      Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. [9] He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.”

      10:8 Nimrod. His name means “we shall rebel”; later Jewish tradition identifies him as the builder of the Tower of Babel (11:1–9). This hunter and warrior is an archetype of Mesopotamian ideals of kingship.
