Couple of these in the truck would be a good idea

  1. About 20 years ago I bought a dozen surplus wool blankets from Cheaper Than Dirt. Not as fancy as these, but very serviceable.

  2. In the early 60's, in the Boy Scouts, we learned that wool was desirable because even if it gets wet, it will still keep you at least somewhat warm, while other materials would not. But, other than that [and the unlikely possibility of getting wet, unless planning of getting out of one's vehicle (like in the event of a snowstorm, etc.)], what is the attraction? Why not keep something that is definitely warmer (a lot of stuff compresses these days).

  3. Only 70% wool, about the same size as a 3.5 Point Blanket, so not quite as good but it's only 1/10th the price of a 100% wool Hudson Bay Blanket.

  4. Have 3 similar and I'd like 3 more. Keep a couple in the RV and 1 at home- these are terrific. Get the highest wool content you can afford- these are not bad.

  5. These are the ones I bought last year:

80% wool, little bigger both ways, little lighter, lot less $$$.

  6. It never gets lower than 32º here, maybe 3-4 nights a year. But, sweetie is cold natured and keeps a heavy wool blanket in the truck during the winter. If she sees this, she'll buy 3.

  7. Thanks for this. Went and bought four as Christmas gifts. May vacuum seal after seeing them opened for keeping in vehicles.
