Good, or Not?

  1. That isn't a Gold Top. It's what is now called a Les Paul "Burst", with a highly figured maple top in a sunburst finish.

If that is an original of the 1958 thru 1960 "Holy Grail" variety, the current price tag is in the mid six figures.

Those old Gibson tube amps sounded pretty good too.

    1. Basically a similar model in terms of music as the gold top? They look rather similar in dimensions and shape.

  2. I love that STP sticker! What a flashback. When I was a kid AJ Foyt's sister lived down the street and when he would come and visit he always had STP stickers to pass out to the neighborhood kids.

    1. Am I missing something? What STP sticker?

  3. A Gold Top's top was painted gold. Basically the same guitar, different finish. If they're of that "Holy Grail" vintage, they're worth almost as much.

Here current vintage Nashville Guitar Great Tom Bukovac explains the magic of those guitars.
