And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I learned how to surf in 3-4 foot waves off the east coast of Florida. At 20 I made it to Zuma Beach California and got to surf 5 and 6 foot waves. They were great but they were at the top of my skillset. In my early 30's I went to Hawaii and saw the waves on the north beach. Nope, too big for me.

ReplyDeleteThat was my try a surfing and I learned quickly I was safer just swimming.
