  6. in the late '40's, Rural Electrification Admin brought electricity to a friend's house in SW-Virginia. Installation consisted of a single pull-chain receptacle located in an interior location of choice. Friend & his brother found great amusement in pulling the chain on/off. That is, until their father raised Cain about wasting the life of dearly priced light bulbs.
