F4U-1A Corsair 829 BuNo17799 of VMF-214 Black Sheep at Munda Point 1943. It is significant today because it is the world's oldest airworthy Corsair. It has been maintained and restored to flying condition and is housed at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, CA.

  1. My favorite WWII era plane. Ironically, my favorite VN era plane is also an F4.

  3. I am pretty sure that there is an F4U Corsair that has been brought back to life and is able to fly at the WW2 Aviation Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  6. a brutal and beautiful aircraft. 13' propeller swing, the wings were so to keep the tips off a carrier deck.
