  1. This looks like something that happened in a European country; because of the shape of the truck.

  3. Time stamp 2015, news logo is presumably Czech (iDNES.cz). Beats me why you wouldn't just drive through the barrier to escape the train.

  5. Hope the trains engineer or passengers didn't get hurt. But I think someone might have...Yup.
2015 Studénka train crash occurred on July 22, 2015, at 7:43 a.m. CEST, when a ČD Class 680 Pendolino high-speed passenger train, operated by Czech Railways and traveling from Bohumín to Františkovy Lázně, collided with a truck at a level crossing in Studénka, Czech Republic.
Cause: The Polish truck driver, attempting to save on highway tolls by taking a local route, drove through the crossing despite active warning signals and gates. He stopped the truck on the tracks, with the trailer (carrying aluminum plates) blocking the rails, while the cab remained clear.
Impact: The train, traveling at 160 km/h (99 mph), struck the trailer. The driver applied emergency brakes, slowing to 142 km/h (88 mph) at impact. The front of the train was severely damaged, and the truck’s trailer caused significant debris, injuring six people at the station.
Casualties: Three people died — two passengers in the front carriage and the train driver, who lost a leg and suffered serious spinal injuries. Seventeen others were injured, including one fatally.

  6. 30 years as a Teamster trucker, I was tempted twice to cross a railroad crossing with flashing lights cause I could not see any train in any direction. Both times, I wouldn't have made it.
