Black Sand, Maybe Iceland

  1. A long time ago a woman I worked with brought back black sand from a beach in Hawaii that was supposedly sacred or something. Anyway she started having really bad things happen to her until she took it back to the island.

    2. The human mind is a feeble thing, but strangely strong when it comes to those pre-evolutionary feelings our simple forebears had.
One can see how many of us give credence to a bearded bloke floating in the clouds, who runs everything, even though we have proof positive that we, and our earth (includes the clouds) are but a wee speck of stuff in the very, very, vast universe.
Sand is sand, nothing more that worn down bits of silica and other compounds, best you can say is it is often salty.

Those black sand coat the west coast of New Zealand as well, from top to halfway down the southern island.
They are often too hot to walk on in barefeet, but the heat is from the sun, not some evil malcontent living within the grains, not some remembered warmth from some volcanic eruption eons ago.

Again, the human mind is a feeble thing, we all carry computers with us 24 hours a day (or more !) ... yet a good fair few of us mentally wander through imagined fairylands where the impossible is wrought real ... and those people get to vote too.

    3. Why isn't my name sticking ?
I don't want to insult vast tracts of the humans without recognition.
William Rocket, that's my rave straight above.
Swear I am going to use super glue next time.

    4. It’s just sand; ergo it’s free to take. It’s just a pile of rocks, so let me just take home part of the Giza pyramids, St Peters Basilica or Stonehenge.
Just because you don’t understand the sacred or believe in it doesn’t mean you have the right to take stuff from sacred spots.

  2. Maui, before Clark Kent, the original Superman. He squeezed Pele's throat until she released the secret of fire. Pele has been bitter since then. Pele also has sore throat. Every now and then she coughs up a slug o' fire.

  3. In Bioco (island of Ecuatorial Guinea) only 2 beaches have yellow sand. all the others are black sand. But it is not a big island and has 3 big volcanoes ...
