And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The "office" inside the first presidential aircraft - the C-54 Sacred Cow. Cool thing is this is where Truman signed the USAF into existence on 9/18/47.
WE will pay $1Billion to improve a "free" plane and it will never go into a museum. Kids from the future will not be able to admire all those ketchup stains on a room just like this one. SAD.
Hey I would not be here if it was not been for Old High Tax Harry. Seeing that my Dad joined the Army in 1946 and if HST had'nt nuked the Japs. The chances of my Dad making it out of that mess would of been pretty low. As it was the Pusan Perimeter was bad enough for him.
Truman…such a traitor to humanity, Japanese and his own people.

ReplyDeleteIt's in the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio, it's free to go take a look. A GREAT museum!
DeleteYeah, I’m all torn up about it.

ReplyDeleteA local FBO did maintenance on that ship three-ish years back. It is a time capsule.
ReplyDeleteAll the previous presidential rides are in hangar 4 at the AF Museum in Dayton.
ReplyDeleteGiven Truman's abiding animus towards the Marines, the EGA on the curtains tickles my giggle switch.
