Now THAT'S a Fireplace!

  1. Needs 2 rock ledges sticking out, high up, with a stuffed snarling mountain lion on them.

  2. Nice but small, needs to have larger opening to fit basic logs.

  3. Assuming it has a proper chimney lining. Otherwise, smokey when it's windy.

  4. The fireplace has enough mass it could store some heat if it can get any.

  5. I love that fireplace. I could see it in my backyard under my brand-new pergola... that I want built someday.

  6. I like Snipers idea. It definitely needs a snarling mountain lion.

  7. Not to sound too argumentative but "trophy" animals mounted on walls is an unfortunate travesty. Killing wildlife for sport should be a crime.

    1. The only person talking about killing is you.
They make some very realistic fakes these days.
Go into a Longhorn Steak house sometime and look at the "larger than life" size steer head with 8' horns over the bar.

    2. And you never mentioned "fake" trophies in your initial post. So, I guess that my commendation of "trophy killing" is for naught. Perhaps if you had explained yourself at the start, your harsh words are also for naught.

  8. Very nice.
I've always wanted one like the one at the Ponderosa in Bonanza.
    That thing was huge!

  9. Fantastic place to sip some Scotch but I had to give it up. I’m much better off without it, and all the other mind altering stuff. E in Dixie.

  10. Pretty but inefficient. I have to cut and split my wood so, at 69, I quite like my woodburner - I think you call them a stove. Making more heat with less effort has become appealing in my old age.
