And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere (and incorrectly, I might add) that 50% of the US population lives between Boston and DC. I just looked it up and see that the real number is not 50% ... but 19%. And having lived in both Philly and DC for several decades, I can tell you that while the number is crowded and a bit insane, it is also thrilling and intense.
It never ceases to amaze me the number of people that call themselves Americans and can't wait to tell everyone how much they love this country but that also can't wait to trash this country.
Don't like big cities? Then don't live in a big city. Don't like the east coast (or the west coast), then stay in the middle. This is a free and large country. You can choose to live anywhere you want. In that maps is contained the birthplace of our nation. The fields where most independence battles were fought. Our Nation's capital, the greatest city in this country, 80% of the country's top universities, 80% of our colonial landmarks, 15-20% of the American population.
Some of you say you love America but it seems you hate most of America.
Affectionally know as BOSWASH. This is the true America: 420+ years of history, all of it American. (California and the Southwest and Texas have 250 years of Spanish history.) If you don’t like BOSWASH, you’re not an American. You’re something else.
It’s like Christianity. If you’re not Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox, you’re not a Christian. You’re something else.
Of course, by that criterion, America (other than California et al.) is not a Christian country.
Having grown up smack in the middle of America, when as a young Marine I was stationed near Boston, it was unrecognizable to me as "America". American things like the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights were enthusiastically violated. It may have " all staated theyah" but it left and went west a couple of centuries ago.
Amazing that the birth of the Revolution started in Mass, with all that entails and you have to jump through many hoops just to own a long gun or shotgun. Handgun? Bigger hoops.
A festering hive of thievery and depravity.
ReplyDeleteRight on both points!
DeleteBur wait! We can't leave out a particular flyover state and, and a certain West coast state, no make that two ... Aw nuts.
Delete"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."
DeleteYeah, quite a few lops live there.
ReplyDeleteFrom where all the non-California bad decisions come.
ReplyDeleteUnder democrat rule, 'live' is a BIG word of course.
ReplyDeleteNo Way in Hell I'd live there.

Stupid post 9,999,999,999. WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT IS FREE SPEECH! We can criticize whatever the hell we want.

DeleteThat graphic is why the smaller of the 13 Colonies demanded approval of the Electoral College before agreeing to sign the US Constitution.
