  1. As long as the Michelin stays put, it's good to go.

  2. Burrowing Owls don't come around here often, got to see one a couple of years ago at the beach. Cute little fellas.

  3. One of my cars has 18 inch wheels, the other 19 inch wheels
Michelin tyres for the 19 inch, 255-45-R19, cost $636 each (in our money, about $US368)
Can someone tell me why Michelin 255-45-R18 tyres cost $470 ($US270)
I know that pies are square, and Sir Come (France) but still can't figure out the difference in cost versus the difference in steel wire and rubber.
Do they need to employ bigger blokes to load the machines with the bigger tyres ?
I am guessing the actual difference in manufacturing costs is minimal, but with each step of mark up that difference becomes magnified.
The discrepancy in price is much the same among other top brands.
I haven't bothered to check with the cheaper brands as they wear out in 2,428 kilometres or 83 corners and so are a waste of money if you intend to keep the car.

The New Zealand owl is soundless when it flies (are all owls silent when flying ?)
The primitive 'natives' of the New Zealand islands call the owl by the sound it makes when it calls other owls - Ruru ... pronounced roo roo .... but they shouldn't be confused with the flightless kangaroos of Australia.

    1. Wife bought a new car a few years ago, had Michelin's on it. At about 2200 miles, while on an out of state trip, hit something on the road, driving a 5 inch construction screw through the sidewall. No plug or patch due to location. Turns out tire was a dealer only model, and not available through Michelin dealers. Being a weekend, dealer service departments were closed, and I did not want mismatched tires on a new car. So had to drive on the donut to finish the trip. Got to the local dealer, got the runaround on the road hazard coverage, and ended up getting bent over o barrel on the price. Well over 350 dollars in 2016. One more reason to this day flip the bird as I pass the dealer. They fucked me once, hope it was good for them. Michelin tires aren't nearly as good as they are made out to be, and new ones are stupid expensive for questionable quality. I got a better ride, and longer service from a set of Dunlops I ordered from Amazon and had a local guy do the mount/balance/install.
