And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
From looking at the line up!!!,,, these troops know the drill!! The planes all look "VERY!!!" STOL capable!!!!!!! skybill PS Note: No "Trikes" here.... I Laugh when someone these daze asks me after I started FLYING way back ... "When did I get my 'TAILWHEEL ENDORSMENT!!!???" Like I said, I LAUGH!!! ... Back then That was Pretty Much what al we had!!!! Try a 7AC Aeronca Champ, 65 hp, a Piper PA-17 Vagabond, 65 hp... and when we could get a chance to fly right seat in Eddie's Uncle Brent's 107 Stinson Voyager!!!!!! 150 hp Franklin!!!! Those were the daze. BTW I STARTED ON TAIL WHEEL's ....The Best of ties!!! skybill FAA-PP (SEL) and other ratings
Kid brother had a Cessna 152 Aerobat, which he had converted, a bit. Wing tip tanks, STOL, changed the Trike into a 'Texas Tail Dragger', had all the rivets sanded down smooth, stripped and painted with metal flakes so the colors changed depending on the angle of the sun.
We mounted my Pentax ME Super into a hole w/glass in the fuslage, and mapped a couple of states for the DEA.... they were looking for Dope patches. With B/W Infrared film, the stuff stood out like a sore thumb, like it glowed! All navigating with a Loran C....
We had a lot of fun with that little thing, it was the start of his Commercial Career. Flying off our farm's 2000' strip to a grassy field for Saturday AM breakfast among other Farmer/Pilots, what a hoot! Racing up the WI River (a little too low), on a sub zero Christmas morning, and doing snap rolls, loops, just goofing off. Favorite thing though, "Float the Dog" - my dog LOVED flying, she whine outside the door and be the first one in, last one out. Making my sister use a barg-bag... So many memories, good times!
Flash floods in those wadi' happen in the blink of an eye.
