And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The ladder to the top of the turret marks it as HMS Nelson or Rodney so the guns are 16". The square pepper-box on the right is a pre-war anti-aircraft rocket launcher that was replaced by Oerlikon cannons mid-war. Al_in_Ottawa
Someone better versed in naval guns might be able to ID the size of that massive gun. It is 16" or 18"?
