Interesting, unique and a bit dangerous (don't flip it!)

Only the English could build something as off beat as this machine.

There are those who push the boundaries in performance, always searching to go faster or corner harder. And then there are those, like Morgan, who look at things from a different perspective. And although time certainly hasn’t stood still in the Morgan factory since opening its doors in 1910, they are still big on tradition! Built by hand, using old-school techniques, and even an ash-wood frame, their new Supersport is every bit a Morgan despite its modernised exterior.

The Supersport was introduced earlier this year to much fanfare, as it’s not often we get to see a brand-new Morgan. And from the outside, although it’s undergone a comprehensive rejuvenation, it still has that unique Morgan stance. You get that signature horseshoe-shaped grill, the round headlights, that stretched out bonnet, flared wheel arches curving down into the side sills, and a short overhang at the rear.

BMW’s turbocharged B58 3.0-litre straight-six engine and gearbox pairing feeds 335bhp to the rear wheels only, through an 8-speed automatic transmission and optional limited-slip differential.

    1. Absolutely agree. They can pry my Volvo C30 6-speed from my cold, dead hands.

  3. The upper coach works are made of ash but the chassis tub is bonded and riveted aluminium.

  4. I'm not big on British builds, but this looks amazing. 335hp and weighing just over 2600#? Oh, that would scoot!

  5. I'd drive that. A really nice set of wheels. Bet it takes corners like it's a slot car, with all that sweet straight six low-mid range grunt.

    1. "Takes corners like a slot car", I wonder how many people remember slot cars?

    3. There were 3 slot car tracks in the town I was raised in. Lot of us built ours using brass tubing and solder joints, you could buy any part you needed at the three shops. Guess we were pretty lucky kids.

  6. A friend/client in Lexington, NC has one. Due to Cali air rules, all US imports are powered by LP gas.

  8. Instead of the BMW 6 turbo how bout a Jag 12? They are about the same size, and drop the auto for a 6 speed TKO. It would be a lot more fun.
