I carry one and have given them to 3 friends and my son.
    It's a beast.

    1. How does a K bar style knife fit into a discussion about a nice 4 inch skinning-utility knife?

  3. Better quality is very relative. In a decent 4 inch (from the pictures as BK14 seems unavailable when I searched) it's hard to beat a mora knife.

Not full tang, but I've batoned kindling with it. Scandi grind does all the jobs I've asked it to do from cleaning fish to skinning to cutting up supper.

For the non-tactical sorts that hate losing their knives the hunter orange is great. Tactical colors available, issued scabbards works well.

The high carbon mora is a little more expensive but strikes the firesteel very well.

At the price of either of the above I suspect I can buy plenty of mora to replace lost blades.

  4. Both good choices. Any blade's better than no blade.

  5. I have several ESSE blades. They are very well made, hard and tough, able to handle any job you need them to and are a bargain compared to the other brand, IMHO.
