  1. Isn't that a double bit hatchet?

  2. Keep one of those in my pickup with my emergency stuff. Used a few times to clear smaller tree debris off the road. Works.

  3. Yeap… more of a hatchet than an axe….I guess a hand axe….more like a fighting tomahawk…

  4. Dunno about the double bit… I’ve bought a single bit Eastwing hatchet when I drove up here in 95. Use it all winter splitting woodstove kindling & the rest of the year for campwood & such. Still holds an edge like new after almost 30 years of hard use. Highly recommend the brand.

  5. IMHO that is something that a Viking would carry in his belt.

  7. Handle is too short to be an axe, but too long for a hatchet. I have one. Still a handy thing though.

The weight and balance is pretty good. It isn't a splitting or a felling axe, but it can do most jobs fairly well.

  8. Useful or not. If it’s Estwing, it’ll last!

  14. I re-ground one side now. It works really good Cutting small sticks down to size. Left the other side as is just sharpened it that works great for splitting up the small stuff for the fire.
