But are they comfortable?

  1. I had several pair of wingtips over the years. They were good dress shoes.

  2. Gave up decades ago. No such thing as a size 14 in EEE.

  3. I have a pair that are 45 years old. I wear them for special occasions. Maybe 25 times over the past 45 years.

  4. God, do I ever miss dad. He even wore those on the shop floor.

  5. Not unless you take the forms out of them…

  6. If you want to get a good pair, look no further than Allan Edmonds. Pricey, but incredibly worth it.

  7. The expensive pair of brogans and other fancy accoutrements are just people's ways of saying to themselves, "I’m better than others".

    1. Rather than being judgmental, I prefer to think that the person wearing those shoes says, "I am worth it."

    2. I'm not judgemental. I'm an experienced, knowledgeable expert observer. Look beyond the shoes. Look at mansions, cars and arm candy babes.

    3. It's also a way of saying, "I only want to pay for a pair of shoes once in my lifetime: But once, cry once."

  8. They're far more comfortable than I expected them to be.

    1. Yep! Have been wearing similar designs from Lloyd over the last 15 years and they're good quality and comfortable, though pricey...

  11. well it is a classic , and you cant go too far wrong sticking with a quality pair of shoes. Good shoes and boots will outlast their cheap counterparts 4x or more , a cheap pair of work boots might last a year , but a really good pair will go 5 years or more so a $300.00 dollar pair of boots is cheaper over the long run because it'll outlast 5 pairs of $100.00 dollar boots and be more comfortable too.
