And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Loading AC-47 Spooky / Puff The Magic Dragon, 40mm Bofors L/60 Cannons & General Electric M-61 Vulcan 20mm gun.
The AC-47 only employed the 7.62 mini-guns; a few very early ones has 50 cal machine guns. This picture is, most likely, in a AC-130A or AC-119. Hard to tell with the dark-to-black background.

I recall a lightning strike on a connex container of electrically primed 20mm. pretty much all of it went up. It was...artistic. northeast Thailand. lots of monsoon.

The image is cropped. In the original there are two airmen who appear to be uncrating the 20mm M61 in a maintenance tent, not a aircraft. Still cool
