And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

As a comparison, there are towboats on the very curvy/twisty Mississippi River that routinely push 1,400+ feet of barges, day and night, in a generally strong current. Towboat Pilots earn their chops. .

Just for comparison, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas is 1188’. Gigantic ships are breathtaking
ReplyDeleteTregutha is too large to pass through the 740 foot Welland Locks so is is truly a "laker", unable to go beyond Lake Erie.
