And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Nutty news from Silicon Valley
Talked to the daughter this evening who works there.
The latest perk they offer down there to get people to sign on is "paw-ternity." Time off to be with your pet. Paid time off. Cat sick? Paw-ternity. Dog hit by a car and at the vet? Paw-ternity.
I have no problem with private companies offering perks to employees. I'd likely buy a goldfish as an excuse to take a day off work. They just swim around a bowl until they die. You mourn them at the funeral and then buy another.
