And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
This is a 59 or 60 vette. They only came with a 283 engine. Single 4 barrel, 2-4s(245 hp or 270 hp high lift cam witch was the engine of the 60 I restored) Above that was the fuel injection engine with hydraulic lifters or solid lifters. The 56-57 had single head lights. The last 6 cylinder engine (slant-six was a Piece of engineering crap developed by Chrysler, not GM.) Was 1955. The 265 cu in was added mid year and the 283 in 1957. I was clocked at a little over 145 mph in my 60 by the THP ( Tennessee Highway Patrol). He was very interested in checking out my car, then let me off with a warning to slow down a bit! The handling was not bad as if you remember their success in LeMans in 1960 by Cunningham and crew. Sorry, not trying to be a know-it-all, but to give some real information to those who are interested in correct knowledge. Bubbarust
Think its got a slant fire six or a 283?
ReplyDeletefor sure it doesn't have a 6cyl. Factory equip was a283 cui. Perhaps a Power-Pak 283. 327's came along in '62.
ReplyDeleteIf I could afford that car, I wouldn't be commuting.
ReplyDeleteNot even to the country club?
DeleteHad a neighbor who redid a 1959, he said at 100 mph the front end felt like it was floating
ReplyDeleteyear?
