And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Toxins? Where the heck do you get the shrimp? Maybe it's the additives they put on them to keep them fresh looking. That junk makes a lot of people ill.
Related Horror Story: About 10 years ago, a buddy of mine was working for an IT company that had dealings in mainland China. He was giving a week-long presentation hundreds of miles from the coast. During one of the dinners, he noticed huge quantities of seafood, shellfish, and bullfrogs (a Chinese delicacy?) which he politely declined. He commented on the quantities, considering how far from the coast they were located. They responded proudly that no, these were not shipped in. They grow them here locally and would he like to see the farming ponds when they toured the next day? He agreed. The next day, he was shown dozens of acres of the "fish farm". They were using tailing ponds full of run-off from the local mine. ...and THIS is why he was always very careful of what he ate while visiting China.
Took a ride out to Bayou La Batre & stocked up on Royal Red shrimp & White shrimp & a couple of hunks of Wahoo, that we had on the grill. Got the shrimp vacuumed & in the freezer.
I truly hope that all of you seafood lovers enjoy it!!!
ReplyDeleteSea bugs my favorite
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Delightful.
ReplyDeleteI can eat some shrimp but my stomach does not process its toxins too well. Eat that much and I would get a stomach ache.

ReplyDeletemud bugs aside, do enjoy a platter of shellfish. That said, reward in shelling, shuck'n or picking the things just isn't there.
ReplyDeleteYumster!
ReplyDeleteLove them Shrimps! Not so much the pre-cooked (kinda chewy), but the fresh or uncooked frozen - steamed. That serving just looks fantastic!
