And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Right. We did something like that in my earliest years of school Back in the early 60's. Seems like we went around in opposite directions and weaved the streamer in and out. I had forgotten all about that until I saw the clip.
Some would undoubtedly disagree, but there's a lot to be said for tradition. I remember celebrations like this still being a big thing in the 60's while in elementary school.
