Early Days

  1. There is a slab half hanging out in the open air away from the cliff face. Measuring about 20' x 6' x 6' thick, it teeters with the fulcrum about mid length. The fulcrum does not extend the full width, so when teetered, the rocking motion is sort of a twisting pitch.

I have watched stupid young men climb out over the fence to whoop and holler as they get that slab rocking and teetering. One of these days she's gonna go.

Thousands of feet below on the valley floor are rocks and boulders some as big as a house. It is said that under one of them boulders there is what was a ranger's house. Thankfully the ranger nor his family were at home at the time.
The road is close by. A tourist bus weren't so lucky.

  2. Yosemite valley is one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Too bad it's in California.
