And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There is a slab half hanging out in the open air away from the cliff face. Measuring about 20' x 6' x 6' thick, it teeters with the fulcrum about mid length. The fulcrum does not extend the full width, so when teetered, the rocking motion is sort of a twisting pitch.
I have watched stupid young men climb out over the fence to whoop and holler as they get that slab rocking and teetering. One of these days she's gonna go.
Thousands of feet below on the valley floor are rocks and boulders some as big as a house. It is said that under one of them boulders there is what was a ranger's house. Thankfully the ranger nor his family were at home at the time. The road is close by. A tourist bus weren't so lucky.

Yosemite valley is one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Too bad it's in California.
