And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
'65 or '66. Probably $3,500 or so. I remember our '64 4-door Impala was $4,200 w/ AM Radio, A/C & Power Steering/Brakes. Last year GM had "flat" side windows.
Before it hit the airwaves, Ronnie & The Daytonas performed that song, "Little GTO," for DeLorean at his GM office. He gave his blessing to the song's release. (I believe the GTO was DeLorean's creation.)
When I was in High School in 76 the parents of this rich kid I knew (notice I didn't say friend) bought him a perfect condition '66 GTO (I think there was some restoration done to it). He drove it around like an idiot and totaled it and thought it was funny.
When I was 16, I worked at Bosco's on south Washington street. He was the Pontiac dealer and had a Richfield station were I pumped gas; $0.31 for regular. He had a brand new one in the show room window. I do not recall what it cost, but at $1.35/hr., I was not going to buy one. But I dreamed.
Wow

AC was an expensive option in the 60s, it could add $400 to $500 to the price of a $3000 car.
DeleteNope.

ReplyDeleteWe had a local hot rod one when I was about 15. One of the hottest cars I’ve ever seen.
