    1. Yes, back in the 60's that's what this model car was called.

  2. '65 or '66. Probably $3,500 or so. I remember our '64 4-door Impala was $4,200 w/ AM Radio, A/C & Power Steering/Brakes. Last year GM had "flat" side windows.

    2. AC was an expensive option in the 60s, it could add $400 to $500 to the price of a $3000 car.

'65 was the first year for the stacked headlights.

    1. Before it hit the airwaves, Ronnie & The Daytonas performed that song, "Little GTO," for DeLorean at his GM office. He gave his blessing to the song's release. (I believe the GTO was DeLorean's creation.)

  6. We had a local hot rod one when I was about 15. One of the hottest cars I’ve ever seen.

  7. When I was in High School in 76 the parents of this rich kid I knew (notice I didn't say friend) bought him a perfect condition '66 GTO (I think there was some restoration done to it). He drove it around like an idiot and totaled it and thought it was funny.

  8. When I was 16, I worked at Bosco's on south Washington street. He was the Pontiac dealer and had a Richfield station were I pumped gas; $0.31 for regular. He had a brand new one in the show room window. I do not recall what it cost, but at $1.35/hr., I was not going to buy one. But I dreamed.
