And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A probe like that can be a great thing and if the 650' is accurate, well that might just do the job. Spending the money on a remote that won't work for the way you live is a disappointment, 650' ought to be enough distance!
I have exactly this same thermometer setup. It is heavy duty with rugged steel braided wires. This is the real deal, especially if you are baking a beef roast and want to measure temperature at two points. Also great when I have two chickens in the smoker. This has my absolute approval! - Snakepit
