And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As a US Marine veteran, I can attest that the US military is not all that corrupt. Unless you're talking about senior flag officers who retire and work as defense industry contractors and advisors.
The Chinese are all insanely anti-Westerners. Perhaps the "Annie" above wants to move to China where they are not corrupt? Maybe communism would fit his/her lifestyle better.
I hear the PRC doesn't like exporting those to western men....unless they're politically or business-connected and thus can be corrupted themselves. by blackmail.
The three clone officers up front (Navy/Army/Air Force) are carrying sidearms and extra magazines, I suppose in order to maintain discipline. Any unarmed soldier behind who can't keep up and keep time is decimated. And it also shows that the officers don't trust the soldiers behind them, not enough to arm them.
This showboat demonstration of military prowess and discipline is to cow all potential enemies, foreign and domestic. It's not how strong you are, it's how strong your enemy thinks you are.
And apparently the Han are big on conformity and similarity. No "Diversity Is Our Strength" nonsense for them. Emperor Palpatine would be proud.
There are articles/videos on the net about the making of those marching videos. They rehearse for hours on end until it is perfect and flawless before the cameras every roll. No sweat stains, not one hair out of place, makeup perfect....
Don't underestimated an enemy, snicker if you like but they are disciplined. Unlike corrupt Americans.
