And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have a knife pretty much like this one, except that it isn't quite that pointy... more of a utensil than a stabbing knife. I have always wondered what its provenance is... I was in the military but never encountered one there.
I never knew this knife company was in one of my occasional stomping grounds of Olean, NY. From the early '50s until the early '90s my family had a hunting camp in Shinglehouse, PA which is not too far from Olean. Whenever we would go up there for a week or two in the summer for vacation we'd head there for groceries instead of hauling them all from home.
