  2. That's the Ukie flag right there . Blue over gold. Unfortunately there's a Panzer column kicking up dust in the distance above the cradle.

  3. Until Josef Stalin imposed the Holodomor, which relatively few people seem to be aware of these days.

    1. The Holodomor is also prominently featured in the 2008 documentary movie, "THE SOVIET STORY", which EVERYBODY ought to see!

    2. The Holodomor is the reason that the Ukraine is resisting Putins invasion so violently. Family stories passed down for decades and generations.

  4. When this painting was initially exhibited, was the title actually, "Harvest in Ukraine", and not, "Harvest in The Ukraine", as back then, wasn't The Ukraine still part of Russia?

  5. This was one of the first songs I was learning to play on the piano when I was a boy in Spring Lake, North Carolina.

Mama was learning to play piano via a correspondence course from the U.S. School of Music, and as she learned each lesson, she'd then teach each of us kids.

After learning to play piano, she then used the same method to teach my younger sisters to play the flutophone, the violin, and the autoharp.

In El Paso, Texas, after I was in high school, I was forbidden to touch the piano because it got too expensive having the piano retuned when I was experimenting playing rock 'n' roll tunes.

I never learned to play the other instruments that my sisters were being taught, because by that point in my adolescence, I had been locked away in the insane asylum until I became an adult.

Strangely enough, my sisters quit playing any instruments, and I was the only one in our family who went on to play the piano and guitar "by ear", while composing, performing, and recording my own original material, stuff you can see on YOU TUBE.

    1. John, the reason that Zelenskyy is resisting the Special Operation is because the US is paying him to do so. The EU is giving him handouts as well, but not as much as the US did.

I'm glad you were able to continue with your music. We had a piano and all the kids were taking lessons. Then we moved and the piano stayed behind and in all the other places we lived there wasn't room for a piano.
