  1. Well, once the storm hit, it blew them off course at close to 50 mph for much more than the planned 3 hours, in fact I saw footage of Gilligan and the Skipper at night battening down the hatches during the storm. The made landfall in the morning. So, there you go…

  3. It was on CBS, and as we have learned for all these years, we can trust CBS to be honest, accurate, and fact checked.

  7. You forgot one key fact:
    "The weather started getting rough,
    the tiny ship was tossed.
    "

The distance travelled was due to a typhoon, not the ship's puny motor.
When someone sets the problem up incorrectly, they always get the wrong answers.

And anyone who doubts the reality of Ginger and Mary Ann is beyond help.

  9. They packed suitcases full of clothes for a three hour trip. I would have packed a cooler of beer. Suspicious.

  10. nobody here ever read the history of Prince Valiant. every time the boat went into a fog bank they ended up in a Gullivers travels scenario. these folks got into a flat out storm.

I had a coworker who was in the Coast Guard in Hawaii back then, and he told me they got phone calls every week about go rescue those poor people.
