    When climbing, that was a hard one to grasp. Once I had done so, it all became enjoyable.

    Metal crampons on the ladder does make it more sketchy. Hiking across a glacier is already sketchy.

  3. It's severely cold and windy, probably not a lot of oxygen and time is of the essence. You have guide ropes. Leaving the crampons on is the best option.

  4. Pretty sure that was designed to support a man's weight when used vertically not horizontally. More guts than me.
