  5. I had a 1976 FJ40 years ago. Rode like a little red wagon, and oh the tire noise — but would go anywhere at all without complaint. 13 MPG, didn’t matter if it was city/hwy/offroad. I miss it terribly.

  8. I'm told that those early Landcruisers were actually a GM design. Might have been intended for Japanese military use, not sure about that. Couple guys at work in the 80's had them. One had a smallblock 350 and the other had a 427. They indicated that Chevy driveline assemblies bolted right in. The SBC setup looked to be a better balance of weight, power, and traction.
