Thanks, Jim!
And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It's only Air Force One when the President is on board.
ReplyDeletePresidential hangar at Wright Patterson AFB. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOk, presidential aircraft. When I say “presidential aircraft” it does not spark the same interest as Air Force One. I took the picture and sent the description.
ReplyDeleteSome folks just aren't happy until they poke their finger in someone's eye. Primarily the term AF1 is for radio communications from the air crew to other aircraft and Air Traffic Controllers. It is still correct to refer to these planes as having served as "AF1." And that's a great photo you took. I visited the museum a couple years ago and felt a certain reverence while walking through each one, especially JFK's bird. I was 3 years old at that time and remember watching his funeral on my grandmother's television.

Chill out A@1727! No one was trying to poke anyone in the eye or denigrate the nice pic, or the author... My apologies for stirring things up. Not my intent.
DeleteAfter President Eisenhower's Columbine II, pogues took over naming presidential aircraft. All subsequent aircraft are designated Special Air Mission (SAM) with tail number or other designated identifier. "Sacred Cow" and "Independence" were neat in an AF nose-art manner.
