And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Dad was stationed in Guam right after the Pacific Theater cooled down. He was a member of Shore Patrol and often patrolled past those Thuderbolts behind the fence.
Really amazing how large a fighter aircraft it is. Must be quite satisfying all wrapped in 10 tons of sky ripping ground shredding fire breathing power.
There's a video on YouTube that shows how to assemble a crated P-47 in the field using simple tools and pieces of the crating material. Quite interesting!
Beautiful sound, too.
