  1. My calf muscles and bone structure is too large to even fit a boot knife.

  4. Like many into guns, I've got that box in the back of my closet filled with failed alternative holsters. One of those holsters is an ankle holster. While not an entirely terrible idea on paper, my (brief) experience with it was that it was like duct taping a brick to my calf/ankle. Even my PPK was heavy, it was not-as-concealed as you might expect, my gait changed....in short, for me, leg carry of any sort just doesn't work.

    1. If you're right handed it is best if the holster is on the inside of your left leg, keeps the weight closer to your centerline. The holster must be thick and wide stretchy velcro so it doesn't ride up and down, or twist around. Like anything else it takes perseverance, practice and adaptation. And a smaller gun, like an S&W M+P fer instance.

    2. Consider a Keltec 380. It has an available side clip like most pocket knives or a good pen. No holster needed. Works great inside a cowboy boot. I often forget that it is even there.
