    1. quick calculation tells me a 50 lb. tire moving at 60mph has about 6000 ft/lb of energy. almost half of a .50 BMG

    1. And, judging by the way that thing was smoking, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that the trailer brakes were a big contributor to it coming off in the first place.

    2. Try wheel bearings and a lack of grease. Throw in a dash of thinking those rear-view mirrors were put on your rig so you can comb your hair, not check to see if your trailer is on fire.

  3. I had similar hit on my house a few years back. The wheel struck only bricks and missed front room window by a foot.
