And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My local gun store/range holds monthly meetings for those who love firearms. You can show and tell your passions with people of like mind. One older couple that visit are Colt revolver collectors and have quite a collection. This photo reminds me of them.
They're really neat folks who love to share their love. The best thing is she's more passionate and knowledgeable about Colt revolvers than he is. They're a fun couple with lots of beautiful Colts.
I have a Trython. Got snookered on a trade for an original Colt Trooper 357. Traded a plane Jane Ruger Blackhawk for a nickle Tooper, it had a couple problems. Because the early Troopers were the basis of the Python, I was able to fix my problems with an xlnt 4" Python barrel and a Python cylinder /crane assembly, both blued. Now, for only too much money, I have a Redneck blued/nickle BBQ gun. Best shooting revolver, (with Python like trigger) I've ever had.
I wandered into the local Merchant of Death a couple-three months ago and he said lookit this what UPS just dropped of fifteen minutes ago. It was one of the new Anaconda's with what was as good a trigger on a factory gun as I've ever felt, and the fit and finish was flawless.
How much? I asked. He said he'd already sold it to himself.

ReplyDeleteSorry no snub nose Colt Python revolvers were produced…. 3 inch was the shortest barrell made.
ReplyDeleteThe new Pythons now have a 2.5".
DeleteThink there are 4 lengths available now.
Oh yes. I just bought one of those 2.5 inch snubbies and it has the retro grip as well. What a beauty

What a selfish man.
DeleteWhich is the best thing about being an FFL holder. You get first dibs. :-)
A friend bought one a few months ago and it was out of time from the factory.
ReplyDeleteAre all nickel/blued finishes crazy $$$ for a decent shooter?
