And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

If you know what these are, or have actually used them, then.....
Oh yeah. Mom and Dad expected us two little boys to sleep in the back of the Rambler Station wagon, while they watched the movie. Yeah Right. One of the last ones I saw was in High school. "Liquid Sky" I think was the name of it.
Probably "Fantastic Planet". That was the weirdest thing I ever saw (even weirder than "Liquid Sky". Yes, I have seen that one. Anne Carlisle was cute but WOW was it strange.
A friend used to live in a 'mobile home community' in West Sacramento. In it's previous carnation it was a drive-in theater. The only thing left of its previous life was the sign out front whose stick on letters read "Deluxe Mobile Home Park".
Every time I'd talk to him on the phone I'd ask him how life was in "the trailer park". He'd feign outrage and blurt out "It's not a trailer park, it's a DELOOX Mobile Home Park". It was a regular routine we had. I liked to provoke it so that I could hear him say "DELOOX". Good times.
I saw "Goldfinger" at the drive-in in Kailua (Oahu) Hawaii. Out by our place in WA there is a drive-in in Shelton and a triple screen place in Bremerton.
Best and worst of times....got laid at the drive in...next week, got dumped....never occurred to me that, hey, maybe I just wasn't that good at it at 17....
I still have one of those though I'm not sure how I came by it. Too many years ago. A friend of mine always referred to the drive in theatre as the "finger bowl". Guess why.
I have one mounted on the living room wall. There's a large multi-screen drive-in about 45 minutes south of here, but they transmit over FM these days. I may take the speaker off the wall and hook it to an FM radio and visit the drive-in. It's the right weather for the wife and I to fog a few windows.
Made by DIT-MCO - Drive In Theater Manufacturing Company. They did a hard pivot and are now the premier maker of complex harness continuity testing equipment used extensively in aerospace. For those of you out there that have used them - now you know!

Right there with you, on that Rambler station wagon. For us it was 'The Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming!' and 'The Giant Gila Monster'
