And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

the smells
ReplyDeletewe use a blue plastic maxwell house container in the sink base cabinet and it gets dumped every couple days, again, foul smells
I was going to post that we've been using a big red Folgers container for at least 20 years.
DeleteDoesn't stink much until you take off the lid. Mine's been an annoyance as a fruitfly nursery since July though.
ReplyDeleteRequired to compost in commieland now. Trash bill keeps going up and they keep taking less and less. The list of stuff they won't take is longer than the list they will.
ReplyDeleteI have one like this. Empty it every other day it’s fine.
ReplyDeleteThe only organic waste I produce (that doesn't go down the toilet) is eggshells. I just crush those and put them in my (half-assed attempt at a) garden.
ReplyDeleteThem chinamen make ev'erthing, huh?
ReplyDeleteWe bought one of those. After a little while it was nothing but a gnat nursery. We'd clean it out, and the cycle would start again. We tossed it.
ReplyDeleteSome of them have an activated charcoal filter on the top for the odors (looks like this one might). We still have our and it is handy, if you take it out to add to the compost. But you have to take it out.
ReplyDeleteWe use ours for coffee grounds only. No pests, and when full it goes to the blueberry bushes. They thrive with that around the base.
ReplyDelete"Compost Everything: the Good guide to extreme composting" by David the Good. Well worth the money and time to read, if just for the humor.
ReplyDeleteFly factory, no sale.
