And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Dianne Rigg aka Emma Peele (The Avengers). I don't recall her preferred firearm but that appears from this angle to be a Walther P38K, but something if off about that.
Couple of other things. Back in the early 80's you could buy German Police P38's from hardware stores. That is where I got mine. Just flopped down $250.00 and I was on my way, pistol, holster and two mags with all matching. Still shoot it but it will not shoot hollow points because of NATO.
I had a P-38 back in the 60's I bought from a guy who took it off a dead Kraut in France or Belgium. Sadly, I sold it during one of my many moves. I have a bunch of the early B&W Avenge TV shows on DVD. I'm always too busy checking out Ms. Peele's legs to care about the firearms.
Yeah, it's a P38. Back in the 60's I knew a drummer in a trio that played scummy bars in the shitty parts of Boston. Shot and a beer for 50¢. They played behind chicken wire just like the band in the Blues Brothers. He carried a P38 when they were playing. Totally illegal. I don't know where he got it. He died of stomach cancer a few months ago.
Those were the days of George Lincoln Rockwell of the American Nazi Party. I know a guy who tried to kill him when Exodus debuted in Boston. He got squished by a a police horse before he could reason with Rockwell
I'll bet that's an U.N.C.L.E. mock up. I say that because of the short barrel and there's no front sight. Always wanted one but not willing to cut mine all up. Storyteller

ReplyDeleteI have a P38 and the first thing I noticed was the flat slide and frame.
DeleteIt may be the trigger well but if you look, even the mag release is visible. I think she is holding a true P38.

ReplyDeleteAmazing how attractive a P38 looks in the hands of Emma Peele.
