And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Douglas Fairbanks directing “Robin Hood” with a giant megaphone for giving instructions to crowds of extras, 1922
Back when the credits said "And a Cast of Thousands"
ReplyDeleteNow the credits have a thousand people listed under Special Effects
I think it was Allan Dwan who directed, with Douglas Fairbanks as the star (according to IMDB.) That version I haven't seen.
ReplyDeleteSo far the best one I've seen is still the Errol Flynn Robin Hood from 1938. Errol thrilled me, while Olivia de Havilland stole my heart in that film.
