And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Ha! I did something like that once in a Geo Storm! A fawn darted in front of me - I slammed on the brakes in an attempt to stop short, making the nose dive nearly to the pavement. Caught aforementioned fawn just above the ankles, laying her down on the hood. As the car continued sliding the last few feet to a stop - the deer came up the hood, past the windshield & wipers, over the roof of the car - and landed on the road behind me. After digesting what just happened - I went out to see if the deer has survived. I feared the worst (I.e.- that it had been crippled rather than killed). As I slowly walked up to the silent and still animal - it suddenly woke up, and was so startled that it jumped up and ran off into the bush! An interesting start to an interesting day. ;-)
not much damage to the car
ReplyDeletedidn't know they had 'deer catchers' on race cars - thought they were only on locomotives!
