And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Alas, one of the world's greatest bits of free entertainment is coming to an end - KLM has decided not to fly it's giant 747 into the airport at St. Maartens.
B-747's are almost defunct as people carriers. Replaced by more fuel efficient, longer range aircraft able to bring higher profits. They will still have a place in the long-haul cargo sector however. I reminisce about my first of dozens of "Jumbo" trips. May 1970 Pan American hop from Frankfurt, Germany to Heathrow, UK. A real thrill.
Decent of them not to flush the blue water tank on the beach folk.
