And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

These photos were taken this morning on Highway 3 near Rush Creek Road just north of Weaverville in Trinity County.
You wouldn't want to come roaring down that road late at night and suddenly see that hole. No way could you jump that gap, even at high speed.
Evel Knievel might have been able to jump it...but there's no time to deploy a parachute if you're wrong.

ReplyDeleteThat such a strategic gap that it requires about a 3 hour detour ...and that's on a good day.
