What better way to spend a Sunday than to hit the road and head for the hills?
What better place to head to than the far side of the Sierra, to see how things are with the aspens?
Two of three kids were game to go.
Antelope Valley from Monitor Pass. The great state of Nevada in the far distance.
Most aspen at Monitor Pass were, quite frankly, done, but there still was a patch or two to find, if one was willing to go off pavement.
Maybe more over there!
A long if not quite winding road.
Final report: the aspens are just past their prime in Hope Valley, way past prime higher up at Monitor Pass, and the time to see them is fast going away. Next weekend or next year.
The color will return as the world renews itself.
